This is a reimagining of the British coastal forces tech tree with a new included Amphibious Support Forces branch, for a total of three comprehensive tech lines. The vessels listed here are an example of what such a line could look like.
Basics of the Tech Tree:
The Amphibious Support Forces branch brings one of the least remembered aspects of World War II naval power to light. In order to ensure success in landing operations, the Allies developed not only landing craft for personnel, but support vessels to go along with them. These vessels were in the front lines at nearly every landing operation you can think of and usually bore the brunt of coastal defenses. Amphibious support fleets range from close-in support vessels to long-range bombardment, anti-aircraft, shipping interdiction, and landing headquarters, to name a few. All the ships in this proposal are at minimum involved directly involved in landing operations, with the majority being purpose designed for them. This part of the tree is marked by slow vessels with good armor and firepower for their size, and offers a unique playstyle compared to the MTBs/MGBs of the standard tech tree. All of the new ships, besides one, are production model vessels, with one partially built vehicle included for flavor. Landing craft use the Barge symbol to set them apart.
Gaijin is a company and they need to make money, so I included a couple of premium/event vehicles that are either specific units of a new tech tree vehicle or similar vehicles to the tech tree that are set apart by a unique feature. This includes a top-rank squadron vessel for the Royal Navy coastal forces.
You can click on each box to learn more about the vehicle. The vehicles that are already in game have thumbnail pictures in their boxes and will simply display a link to the War Thunder wiki, while the new ships (no thumbnail picture) will have their suggestion post on the forum linked along with a very brief explanation of what they bring to the table in terms of gameplay. If you want to learn more about any specific new vessel, such as their specifications or backgrounds, more information will be in the suggestion posts attached.
